The turbine casing, also referred as the turbine housing, and the compressor casing, also referred as the compressor housing, are both highly significant components of a turbocharger. Both of these casings cover all important parts of the turbocharger and are linked with a centre housing in between. It is necessary to disassemble the turbocharger casing carefully before fixing it. This disassembly should be performed by specialists since there is a great risk of harming the turbocharger if this task is not performed by experts. Following appropriate disassembly of the turbocharger, the casings for the turbine and compressor sides should be carefully cleaned so that all dirt and soot are entirely rinsed out, resulting in no residues of waste on the casings and then the turbocharger can work correctly. The surfaces of the casing are adequately treated, and the turbocharger casing is thoroughly cleansed with chemical liquids. Inlet and outlet casing should be thoroughly inspected before repairing them, and if there are serious damages, then the parts should be replaced with genuine original parts to avoid future harm to the turbocharger, since duplicate parts are frequently used during repairing work, which is not a good indication, because of potential problems with the turbocharger, and also because the engine will not operate optimally, resulting in an increase in fuel consumption and a rise in emissions.
