wrote by Raghib . (3 months ago)

Fratelli Cosulich Group has made a significant stride towards sustainability in maritime transportation by ordering two 7,999 dwt IMO2 chemical bunkering tankers from Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., with options for two additional units. The initial vessel of this methanol-ready series is slated for delivery in the first half of 2026.These newly commissioned vessels are engineered to accommodate a diverse array of cargoes, encompassing fuel oil, biofuels, and methanol in their specialized cargo tanks, thereby enhancing versatility and market appeal.

This investment underscores the company's steadfast commitment to fostering a sustainable and operationally efficient maritime industry. Fratelli Cosulich Group emphasizes environmental stewardship and technological innovation, leveraging its team's expertise and a versatile fleet poised to support the shift towards sustainable marine energy solutions. The company's existing fleet includes fully operational twin small-scale LNG bunker vessels, Alice Cosulich and Paolina Cosulich, catering to the rising demand from LNG-powered ships. The forthcoming addition of Marta Cosulich, the group's first IMO2 chemical bunker vessel capable of dispensing biofuel and methanol, along with plans for the first methanol-fueled vessel scheduled for 2025, exemplifies its proactive stance in embracing a multi-fuel future.
