Sallaum Lines, a Switzerland-based ocean transportation company specializing in vehicle logistics, has announced the procurement of six Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) vessels in collaboration with two prominent Chinese shipbuilding firms. This strategic move aims to address growing capacity demands and mitigate challenges arising from trade imbalances in Europe.
The new vessels will be constructed by Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Co. and China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing), two established names in the global shipbuilding industry. Designed to the highest industry standards, the vessels will feature capacities ranging from 7,400 to 7,500 Car Equivalent Units (CEU), enabling the efficient transport of vehicles and trucks across global markets.
Sallaum Lines has emphasized the importance of these additions to its fleet, highlighting their role in enhancing the company’s ability to provide tailored logistics solutions to its clients. By investing in state-of-the-art vessels, the company aims to align with evolving market trends and strengthen its position as a leader in the automotive shipping sector. This development underscores Sallaum Lines’ commitment to innovation and operational excellence, ensuring its fleet remains competitive and capable of meeting the demands of an increasingly dynamic global trade environment.
