Knutsen Group has taken delivery of its latest LNG carrier, Nantes Knutsen, from South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI). The 174,000m³ capacity vessel features state-of-the-art, energy-efficient technologies, marking a significant step toward sustainable maritime operations. These include an air lubrication system, shaft generators, and a reliquefaction system, all designed to reduce the ship's carbon footprint.

The Nantes Knutsen is the eighth in a series of nine newbuilds that will be chartered to Shell under long-term agreements. These vessels reflect Knutsen’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the environmental performance of its fleet while maintaining high operational standards. The inclusion of advanced energy-saving measures aligns with global efforts to minimize emissions in the shipping sector, particularly for LNG carriers that play a crucial role in energy transportation. The delivery of this vessel underscores the successful collaboration between Knutsen Group and HSHI, continuing a series of projects aimed at increasing the efficiency and sustainability of the maritime industry.
