Oceangold Tankers has expanded its fleet with six additional vessels currently being constructed at China’s Penglai Jinglu shipyard. The company’s website confirms that these 49,200-dwt MR2 tankers are scheduled for delivery between October 2025 and November 2026. This development follows earlier reports in 2023 of a letter of intent with Penglai Jinglu, which has since been finalized into a formal agreement.

In addition to the MR2 tankers, Oceangold Tankers is set to take delivery of three Aframax/LR2 vessels from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding by January 2026. The combined fleet of nine newbuildings incorporates advanced technologies, including methanol-ready systems, reflecting the company’s focus on sustainable and efficient operations.These additions strengthen the Greek shipowner’s position in the tanker market while underlining its commitment to integrating innovative and environmentally friendly solutions across its fleet.
