Fujian Shipping Group has announced a strategic expansion of its dry bulk fleet through a new order for up to four Kamsarmax vessels from Haitong Offshore Engineering, a fellow Chinese shipbuilder. The vessels are scheduled for delivery between October 2026 and March 2027. While specific details regarding the vessels remain undisclosed, Clarksons reports an estimated cost of CNY292.7 million ($41.2 million) per vessel. This figure significantly exceeds the current broker quotes of $37.5 million for similar-sized tonnage.

This move follows Fujian Shipping Group's November 2023 order for two 63,500 dwt Ultramaxes from Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, with anticipated delivery set for 2025.
