Padangbai, August 7, 2024 – A fire broke out on the MT Elisabet Satu, a motor tanker flagged under Indonesia, while navigating near Gili Tepekong, within the operational zone of the Manggis Special Terminal (Tersus) in Manggis District, Karangasem Regency, Bali. The incident occurred approximately one mile west of Gili Tepekong Island.

The MT Elisabet Satu, which measures 2,938 GT, was en route from Tersus Manggis Port to Badas Port when the fire was reported. The vessel, managed by PT. Arta Samudera Line had a crew of 20 included 15 individuals who have been successfully evacuated, while five crew members remain in the process of evacuation, reportedly still in the engine room. Tug boats, including TB Aurora and TB Transko Dara, were dispatched to assist in extinguishing the blaze, which has since been contained.The vessel has been temporarily anchored near Gili Tepekong. Authorities, including the Head of KSOP Class IV Padangbai, arrived at the scene to oversee ongoing response efforts. The incident is under investigation as response teams continue to manage the situation.
