Thecla Bodewes Shipyards, a prominent Dutch shipbuilder, has been awarded a contract by Navigare Shipping, a family-owned shipping company based in the Faroe Islands, for the construction of four state-of-the-art general cargo vessels.

The vessels, known as the GADUS 5600, are designed by Thecla Bodewes Shipyards and incorporate advanced diesel-electric propulsion systems. While maintaining the same dimensions as the largest vessels in Navigare Shipping’s existing fleet, the GADUS 5600 will deliver significantly enhanced performance. The design focuses on optimizing cargo capacity and achieving substantially reduced fuel consumption, ensuring greater operational efficiency and sustainability.
