Asia Pacific Shipping (ASP), a Vietnam-based shipowner and fleet management firm, has recently inked a significant deal with Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) in China. The agreement entails the construction of two cutting-edge methanol dual-fuel MR oil tankers. The signing ceremony took place amidst the prestigious maritime event, Posidonia 2024, held in Athens, Greece. While the financial intricacies of the contract remain undisclosed, the deal marks a notable advancement in ASP's fleet expansion strategy.

The newly commissioned tankers are slated to boast impressive specifications. With a total length measuring 182.99 meters and a moulded width of 32 meters, these vessels are engineered to navigate efficiently through varied maritime conditions. Additionally, their structural draft of 11 meters ensures optimal stability during voyages. Equipped with innovative technology, including methanol dual-fuel engines, these tankers are primed to operate at a speed of 14.5 knots, promising enhanced performance and environmental sustainability.The collaboration between ASP and GSI underscores a mutual commitment to fostering advancements in maritime transportation while adhering to stringent environmental standards.
