West Atlantic Shipyard is a Subsidiary of the PIRIOU group formed in 2004 in Nigeria.To build support ships for the offshore oil and gas industry in accordance with the Nigerian Coastal and Inland Shipping Act and in keeping with the spirit of promoting “local content”..
WEST ATLANTIC SHIPYARD started its activity by building aluminium crew-boats, from 18 to 32m in length.
To meet exponential repair demand and the demands of the shipbuilding order book, the shipyard’s workforce has grown to over 200 workers.
The Shipyard's primary focus today is specialising in Ship Repair and Dr-Docking Services with 2 x 110 Meter Floating Docks, 300 Meter Quay Space and a Ship Repair related activity services.
In line with the spirit of the PIRIOU group, the shipyard aims to be attuned to the needs of current and potential clients by playing the card of proximity to the operating zones, both in construction and in repair and of responsiveness, quality and global offer.

West Atlantic Shipyard is committed to the security of all activities undertaken in the shipyard, personnel, infrastructure, information, equipment or other resources, as well as that of our clients/customer.
Having obtained statement of compliance from Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on the ISPS code, we are committed to the security and safety of our personnel, subcontractors, customers doing business within the shipyard. The top management of West Atlantic Shipyard takes the following security policies as its core goal

Commitment to prevent, avoid, and reduce the likelihood and consequences and disruptive or undesirable events,
Commitment that security measures and procedures are regularly inspected,
validated, and verified to maintain high levels of security standards throughout the shipyard, Ensuring the physical security and safety of all personnel and equipment within the perimeter of the shipyard.
Ensuring the physical security of customer’s property by protecting them from
accidental or malicious damage, theft, and sabotage.
The commitment that all security-related incident will be reported, recorded and where necessary, corrective actions taken to improve the overall security standard.
Commitment to ensure that security policies and procedures are implemented
according to the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
