On the afternoon of July 31, a significant strategic cooperation agreement and construction contract were signed between Jiangsu Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Jiangsu Port Group, and Nantong COSCO Kawasaki Ship Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry. This agreement marks the commencement of building two 82,000-ton smart bulk carriers.

The new vessels, known as KAMSARMAX ships, will integrate cutting-edge shipbuilding technologies and equipment, bringing substantial benefits in safety, economy, environmental friendliness, and intelligent features. The design and selection of the main engine have been meticulously refined for optimal performance. Furthermore, these ships will feature an intelligent energy efficiency management system developed by Nantong COSCO SHIPPING Kawasaki, which includes capabilities such as performance analysis, route optimization, and auxiliary operations.

This collaboration between Jiangsu Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd. and Nantong COSCO Kawasaki Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. highlights their shared dedication to advancing maritime technology and operational excellence. The introduction of these state-of-the-art KAMSARMAX bulk carriers is poised to elevate industry standards, showcasing the innovative and forward-thinking approach of both companies.
